25 Random Things About Me

Facebook is exploding with "25 random things about me" notes to the point that Time Magazine even wrote an article about it. Check out "Facebook: 25 Things I didn't want to know about You."

So to go against the grain and not really participate, but participate...I've decided to make a useful list of "25 Not-So-Random and Important Things I bring to the Airport." Enjoy!

From the airplane

25 Not-so-Random Things I bring to the Airport

1. Carry-on luggage only. If you're traveling for a week or less, carry-on is the way to go.

2. Identification. Driver's license or passport.

3. Travel Organizer Case. A useful case that stores all my travel documents, ID, and money.

4. Printed Itinerary and flight confirmations. Don't waste time standing in line when you can print it out at home.

5. Extra cash. You need cash monies if you want to tip the skycap.

6. Magazines, preferably gossipy US WEEKLY/PEOPLE ones. They're cheaper and more entertaining.

7. A book

8. Sudoku

9. Pencil/pen. What if you want to circle something from the airline shopper's catalog...Like a hearing-aid that doubles as a bluetooth...

10. Chapstick

11. Slippers. I pack these on international flights.

12. A plastic bag. You need this for any liquids! It's very important!

13. IPOD

14. Headphones. If you don't own an MP3 player, you should at least bring headphones or else the airline could charge you $5 to rent theirs.

15. Plastic tie-locks for any luggage I do check in. It's plastic and it looks like twisty ties. It doesn't prevent dishonest people from breaking into your stuff but it can deter them.

16. Water bottle. It's easy to get dehydrated on a plane. Just remember that you'll have to pass through security and buy one at the airport.

17. Aspirin or Tylenol PM. Some people on the airplane can drive me crazy.

18. Breath mints or gum. What's worse than morning breath? AIRPLANE BREATH.

19. Eye drops

20. Pathmark Turkey sub. Airlines don't really feed you on the plane and if they do, have you seen their choices?! It's cheaper and better to bring your own sandwich

21. Snacks

22. Toothbrush. On overnight flights, I always bring a tooth brush to prevent the dreaded AIRPLANE BREATH.

23. My own pillow. When I was young, I used to drool on those airline pillows. When I found out that other people were drooling on them too, I brought my own.

24. A mini blanket or an extra sweatshirt. No infectious skin diseases, please.

25. A camera. You might want to take some pictures from the airplane if you see a great view. Plus, you never know who you'll bump into at the airport, especially if you fly into LAX. Hello, Cameron Diaz!
